Process

It all begins with an idea. To realize the idea to its full potential, I follow the human-centered design process. The starting point of every journey is the ‘Project Brief’.

Four main stages follow:

Research, Strategy, Design and Implementation.

In my work with clients and employers, I’ve made communication the most important principle, tying the four stages together. Effective communication throughout any project allows me to develop and deliver work that matches the expectations of my team, clients and stakeholders.

Research

I rely on Surveys, Interviews, Affinity Mapping, Wireframes, Desk Research, Market Research, In-use demos and prototype testing to discover insights that might inform the creative strategy, and the project as a whole.

Strategy

Creative strategy ties all of the research together and is what guides de design stage. Every decision made in the execution phase comes out of an item in the strategy.

Design Execution

Using the Strategy as a road map to reach the end of the journey, I apply technical knowledge (design tools, CAD, digital and physical prototypes) paired with insights and key learnings from the Research stage to develop an idea into a product that can be marketed and sold.

Implementation

The big reveal. It’s not always straightforward and requires attention to detail, planning and excellent communication with stakeholders. However, this is a critical stage in which all the work that’s put into a project finally sees the light of day. Whether it is a new mobile app, a website, a brand rollout, in this stage the project becomes part of this world.
